Artist Statement: Metal and Meaning - Art as Resistance

In a world on fire—politically, environmentally, spiritually—I choose to create with intention, urgency, and hope.

My work reclaims discarded materials—repurposed tin, copper, brass, homemade paper, and paint—transforming them into symbols of resistance and resilience. These humble, once-forgotten materials carry the scars of their past and are reborn as vessels for truth-telling.

Each piece in this collection is a response to the social and environmental crises we face. From the pendant stamped with "Resist", forged from vintage tin flowers, to the raw emotional outcry of "The Show Must Go On"—a visual commentary on the climate crisis and society’s obsession with spectacle as the world burns—I use art to confront the uncomfortable and provoke reflection.

This is not just art for art’s sake.
It’s protest.
It’s prayer.
It’s a call to wake up and engage.

I invite you to look closer. Beneath the layers of metal and pigment is a heartbeat—mine, yours, the planet’s.
